The faibl journal
These are product and craft notes from the work of building faibl. There is no newsletter or marketing mailing list yet.
Why the manuscript stays in the centre
A novel is not a collection of unrelated tasks. Decisions made in one scene change the meaning of later scenes, so the primary surface should remain the book in reading order.
Planning and review are most useful when they stay close to the prose they affect. That is why faibl treats dashboards as support, not as the destination.
Continuity without flattening the story
Continuity tools should make facts and contradictions visible while leaving ambiguity, surprise, and style in the author’s hands.
faibl keeps character, world, and plot context inspectable so an author can decide whether a flagged difference is a mistake or an intentional turn.
AI output is a candidate, not a decision
Generated text can be useful without being authoritative. A candidate can be compared, edited, rejected with direction, or ignored entirely.
The useful boundary is simple: AI may propose and review, but only the author approves prose for the manuscript.
